Flat Patterning

Fall 2015

-Developed an understanding of the relationship of the 2-dimensional pattern shape to the 3-D body

-Understood, in detail, the drafting and manipulation of the basic pattern blocks in pattern development

-Learned the proper identification of pattern parts and their labeling/marking

-Combined and adapt basic pattern manipulation by hand in order to construct pattern for specific designs

-Understood the proper engineering of garments initiated with the pattern in clothing construction manufacturing processes

-Learned and implemented the basic process of apparel pre-production from design concept through finished sample

-Conveyed design ideas through sketching and drawing flats.
